Of Tea and Tattoos

When I'm 84, I want to be Sarah Ogden.

Tonight, this dear lady invited all of the Institute girls—staff and students—over for a fancy tea. She's just as sweet as can be, but what I like about her most is that she and her husband Ken are so deliberate about knowing younger people and hearing what they have to say. After a lifetime of experiences, they're still open to new ideas.

After Sarah finished reading a tea-time story to us tonight, she said this:

"I don't really favor tattoos. But I've discovered lately that if I say, 'Tell me about your tattoo,' I'll hear a story. I like hearing people's stories, so I'm starting to appreciate the tattoos."

Love her.
